See what Barca Coach said ahead of Getafe game tomorrow that got people talking
Ronald Koeman has convinced the dressing room.
The players are thrilled with him as the manager, and are happily following his instructions as well as his demanding program during training sessions. This is what he said in his press conference ahead of tomorrow's game with Getafe.
Koeman:
" Tomorrow we'll face a difficult game. We will have to be very well and look for spaces. Getafe's trajectory in recent years is very positive.
Griezmann?
I have spoken to him yesterday in the afternoon. We talked about his position and his performance. I have told him that I seek the best for the team. In the end, I decide where Griezmann plays. If he offers his best performance, there won't be a problem.
Messi to rest?
I want my line-up to be the best possible in each game. Messi has returned with great enthusiasm and joy. After training we will decide the line-up for tomorrow. Messi has been playing a very tight schedule for many years. Besides, he's a player who, if he doesn't play, is even more tired. He's a winner, he always wants to be in the games."
Dembélé?
He has a lot of quality and he's physically improving each day. I'm very happy with what I've seen of him in training."
Sergino Dest?
It was good to have Dest here for these two weeks. We had time to talk about the system but it is not different to what he played at Ajax. He can play right-back or left-back. We know Alba is not fit for tomo, so it’s a possibility he will start there tomorrow.
Riqui?
I watched his games with the Spain U21 side and obviously I also looked at Pedri. He will have options to play."
De Jong?
“De Jong knows when he’s been good and when he’s been below his level. All players have the right to play ‘not so good’ games, I hope he returns to his best version. We must not forget that he’s still a very good player and very young.Fans could be allowed to see Barcelona game against Getafe at the weekend and this is what the coach said about the possibility of having spectators at Camp Nou:
Spectators at the Camp Nou? I hope there are people soon at the Camp Nou, I think it’s the best thing that can happen to us. It’s difficult to play without people for the players, but I can’t say when there can be people and when not. What we always want is to win for all the fans.
Pjanić? We'll evaluate him in training today and he could be involved in tomorrow's game.
Being a coach here is a pleasure, I am happy that the players responded well to what I said.
"I don't think Ter Stegen will be ready for El Clásico."
That concludes Koeman's press conference. End of thread.
